Ryan Colley is an Intelligence and Investigations Executive with more than a dozen years of progressive leadership serving the Fortune 500, global law firms, international organizations, and sovereign entities focused on conducting sensitive investigations and intelligence gathering to support litigation, defend reputations, and drive strategic opportunity. Current specializations include cyber-financial crime, executive reputation defense, cross-border disputes and litigation, and asset recovery.

Colley exhibits strong industry expertise by leveraging a data-driven approach to lead end-to-end client projects, from directing intelligence fact-finding, analysis, to managing multi-jurisdictional, bet-the-company investigations. To date, Ryan has successfully advised Counsel to litigate and settle 12+ fraud or litigation matters with loss or impact exceeding USD $1 billion, and has counseled and worked on behalf of professional athletes and A-list entertainers.

Today, Ryan is CEO of Colley Intelligence, based in firm’s Washington, D.C. offices. Colley Intelligence is a full-service international corporate investigations, intelligence, and advisory consultancy specializing in complex litigation support, international intelligence, and advisory. Established in 1987 in Columbus, the firm has closed over 11,000 cases in more than 90 countries and territories.

As a sought-after industry expert, Colley maintains industry-leading professional credentials and memberships including Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Anti-Money-Laundering-Specialist (CAMS-FCI); an Associate of the American Bar Association (ABA), former Global Executive Board Member of the Council of International Investigators (CII), the New York Police Department’s public-private SHIELD partnership, and is a long-standing member of the US Department of State’s Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC), and FBI’s InfraGard program.

Prior to joining Colley Intelligence, Ryan worked for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in Washington, D.C., and on Capitol Hill. In addition to his work and representation on behalf of clients, Ryan is active in pro bono and caused-based organizations, having worked on behalf of New York-based the Innocence Project, The Georgetown Law Center, and advised several high-profile environmental organizations on reputation management, and international safety and security risk.

Colley earned his B.A. in Classics, with a minor in Russian Studies from the College of Charleston in 2009. He speaks Spanish, Russian, and has a basic command of Italian. Ryan resides in Washington, DC with his family, and in his spare time is an avid skier.
